The Storm Island Debacle

The Vicar, the verger, and the boy drive up from the docks at Storm Island to check on his most distant parishioners, Mr. and Mrs. Rose. MI5 makes the scene... but why?

On Storm Island an unexpected guest has turned up at the home of Mr. David Rose, former pilot of the RAF, and his wife Lucy.

The dawn is split by the sound of a single Webley shot. David crumples to the floor in shock at the neat little hole in his chest, slowly turning crimson across his undershirt. 
Lucy swings at Henry with an axe but discovers too late why his code name is Die Nadel, The Needle, as he slips his stilleto between her ribs, straight into her heart. His cold eyes locked with his former lover's while her life slips away.  He then turns the dagger on David finishing his foul work. A distant howl is heard as he slips out the back door, leaving the grisly scene behind. 


The Needle slips away again.

Sneedville Campaign

 Working the Army of the Pines to retake Sneedville.   Based on the Knoxville campaign plan Hey Diddle Diddle, I provided three courses of action for General Stiner; 1-2 Secure Parkey Gap and Rebel Hollow to deny Commander Patton and his Jones' Army the ability to advance west from Sneedsville. 3-4 Secure Riley Church and establish a forward staging area to retake Sneedsville. 5-6 Hold the crossroads south of Hopewell Bridge to deny rapid access to Tazewell and Cumberland Gap. I rolled a two and issued the following order; Rapidly deploy the horse regiments from Harrogate and the combined Sneedville, Bean Station regiment (minus) to secure Parkey Gap. Follow on with the remainder of the Army of the Pines to reinforce the position and deny Jones' Army access through the gap.  Be prepared to advance on Sneedville on order. Parkey Gap Holds!

  "Parkey Gap Held! " Disposition of Forces The Army of the Pines under the solid leadership of General Stiner has met the Kingsportion Jone's Army and driven them back.  The taking of Parkey Gap holds the Kingsportions at bay and opens the way to liberate Sneedville. A small force of bold Knoxville men met the invading Jone's Army and stopped them cold.  The action took place approximately fourteen miles from Sneedville at the Northern end of Parkey Gap.  Troops from Barbourville Dragoons and a combined force of Sneedville and Bean Station men, colloquially known as "the Orphans", established a blocking position and soundly defeated the overwhelming forces under the leadership of Commander Mathew Patton.   The initial volleys rendered the vanguard cavalry regiment the 1st Duffield Lancers ineffective as they scouted the abatis obstacles.
