What's that in the fog?
At a lonely home guard watch station over the fields in southern blighty, the fog rolls thick along the river bank. Hopefully the the dummy sentries will ward off the bosch.
Sergeant Smythe explains the finer points of keeping the armoured car ready to roll at all times, including the head space and timing on the vickers. At the observation post LCPL Jones explains how the binoculars are useless in this fog but keep a sharp eye out for german paratroopers all the same.
Deep in the fog Hauptman Longinius approaches a dummy sentry and with an unknown power animates the over dressed scarecrow.
Using the dummy attack as a distraction Hauptmann Longinius ran across the bridge and off into the fields. Sgt. Smythe gunned toward the ford, while Hook cranked the turret back to the front.
The fog, ever thicker, provides cover for the agent to move to the next two dummies and repeat his arcane magic.
The fog clears enough for Pvt. Welles to spot what can only be crack german paratroopers assaulting over the bridge and fires a shot toward them. The alarm raised Sgt. Smythe and Pvt. Hook mount up in the Morris armoured car. Sgt. Smythe attempts in vain to start the motor, while Hook loads the Vickers.
Hauptmann Longinius extends his control over the dummies driving them to attack the observation post.
To Welles' horror one of the dummies forces itself over the hedge and attacks him with a flury of blows. The private snaps to and buttstrokes the animated dummy across its head, knocking the stuffing out of it and driving it to the ground.
The Morris finally started Sgt. Smythe guns the the motor and plows over the nearest dummy. Pvt Hook opens up on the last dummy with the Vickers, .303 rips through the straw bodied animate.
While the guards are distracted Herr Longinius has slipped into the guard house, but what would he want in there? His powerfull spell reanimates the dummies, even when he is out of sight. Welles had jumped the hedge to chase after the last intruder he saw slip into the guard house when suddenly the dummies stood back up in front of him. Pvt. Hook yelled at Welles to fall back and opened up with the Vickers ripping the dummies apart again.
Using the dummy attack as a distraction Hauptmann Longinius ran across the bridge and off into the fields. Sgt. Smythe gunned toward the ford, while Hook cranked the turret back to the front.
